Objectives:

  • Provide a forum for relevant information and the chance to discuss questions in organic agriculture research
  • Raise awareness on the importance of scientific publishing
  • Present the ISOFAR journal, share updates, and develop ideas for collaboration to increase the volume and quality of published papers.
  • Encourage more scientists and other stakeholders to produce and submit relevant, high-quality papers for peer review and publishing in the member journal of ISOFAR, Organic Agriculture
  • Learn how to construct high-quality scientific papers, from the introduction to the conclusion.

Policies Driving Sustainable Food Systems

Objectives:

  • Advance the development of policies driving sustainability in agriculture and food systems
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer exchange among local and national-level policymakers and experts on best practices and experiences
  • Offer an in-person meeting for a growing Community of Practice of policymakers dedicated to sustainable agriculture
  • Utilize participant experience to provide strong examples and connect to networks in Asia and Africa:
    • ALGOA (Asian Local Governments for Organic Agriculture),
    • Ecological Organic Africa Initiative (implemented by Biovision Africa Trust)

Organic Animal Husbandry Systems – Ways to Improvement

Objectives:

  • Offer farmers, advisors, and researchers the opportunity to exchange information, experiences, and research results with a focus on organic livestock systems and their vital role in sustainable production systems
  • Offer European Union CORE ORGANIC livestock research project coordinators a platform to present their preliminary research results
  • Commonly articulate potentials, challenges, development pathways, and needs of organic livestock production for different climatic regions and socio-cultural contexts around the world;
  • Discuss projects with colleagues from around the world and learn from one another’s perspectives and experiences

Seed Ambassadors: Building an International Network to Advance Organic Seed Systems

Objectives:

  • Raise awareness on the importance of organic seed and plant breeding
  • Engage young seed ambassadors and seed pioneers, build relationships and broaden international representation within the organic seed community
  • Stimulate knowledge exchange and provide a think tank for innovating organic seed and breeding systems in line with IFOAM principles
  • Broaden international representation within the organic seed community
  • Revitalize and diversify IFOAM organic seed working groups
  • Celebrate and share diversity of culture, food, seed, and methodologies
